This February, Wildlands Conservancy is offering 5 exciting Community & Education Eventsall of which are free to the public (online registration requested and registration will open as of Monday, January 19):

  • Let’s Snowshoe with Your Sweetheart! this Valentine’s Day at Trexler Nature Preserve-Packhouse Rd.;
  • Our Stewardship Walk and Bear Monitoring Talk at one of Wildland’s protected easements (rarely open to the public) in Blakeslee;
  • A cool Winter Birding Walk at Trexler Nature Preserve;
  • An exciting Winter Wildlife Snowshoe adventure at Housenick Memorial Park in Bethlehem; and
  • Our Get Out! For Wellness Winter Hike through the Robert Rodale Reserve and the South Mountain Preserve in Allentown.

Wildlands Conservancy – Snowshoe with Your Sweetheart! – 1:00PM – 3:00PM EST at Trexler Nature Preserve – Packhouse Road Parking Area, 5375 Old Packhouse Rd., Schnecksville, PA 18078. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart on a magical snowshoe trek through a winter wonderland! Explore snowy trails as you learn the art of animal tracking, discovering signs of wildlife that call this landscape home. Wildlands Conservancy – Stewardship Walk and Bear Monitoring Talk – 10:00AM – 12:00PM EST; we’ll meet at the Blakeslee Wawa, 296 PA-940, Blakeslee, PA 18610. Join us for this special, guided walk through one of Wildlands’ protected easements (rarely open to the public), where you’ll learn about land stewardship and ongoing conservation efforts, and gain insight into Pennsylvania’s bear monitoring program. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Winter Birding Walk – 1:00PM – 3:00PM EST at Trexler Nature Preserve – Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville, PA 18078. Whether you’re new to birdwatching or looking to sharpen your skills, this guided walk will introduce you to the hardy species that call our region home during the colder months. Experience the quiet beauty of winter as we explore the trails in search of animal tracks, seasonal wildlife activity, and the unique stories the winter landscape reveals. Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! For Wellness: South Mountain – 10:00AM – 12:30PM EST; we’ll meet at 28th Street SW, Allentown, PA 18103. Join us for a winter hike through two remarkable natural areas: the Robert Rodale Reserve—designated a State Significant Area—and Wildlands Conservancy’s 440-acre South Mountain Preserve. This primarily out-and-back route includes a scenic loop along the Bug Trail. Participants who prefer a shorter outing are welcome to turn back at any point. Questions?
