All the elements were in place, a great sunny day, tailgaters prepared their favorite game dishes, and the stadium was packed with howling fans as they rooted for their team. It was the game of the season, the Lehigh Mountain Hawks vs. the Lafayette Leopards on Lafayette’s home field.

The Leopards snapped into action, and scored about halfway through the first quarter. The Mountain Hawks didn’t lack the determination, but rather were held back by an iron clad Leopards defense, which held strong throughout the game. Then the second touchdown happened for the Leopards.

By the second quarter, the Mountain Hawks finally made it on the scoreboard with a field goal, trailing 3-14. The scoreboard remained unchanged until the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Mountain Hawks scored a touchdown, but their field goal was blocked, bringing them to 9-14.

The Leopards were unable to score again by the fourth quarter.  The Mountain Hawks were successful with a two point conversion, bringing the final score to 11-14.
