PMVB Community Impact Grant applications open for 5th year
April 15, 2026 – The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Impact Grant Program, continuing a proven four‑year investment totaling more than $1.4 million that has helped bring more than 150 community improvement projects to fruition across Pocono Mountains communities. The grant program is designed to strengthen local neighborhoods by supporting safer, more organized, and visually vibrant public spaces that enhance quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
Eligible applicants include local governments such as boroughs, townships, and Main Street organizations, as well as municipal and redevelopment authorities. Grant funds may be used for projects focused on streetscapes and beautification, including curb, street, and parking line painting; sidewalk repairs; tree and shrub trimming; trash clean‑up and receptacles; and trail or park maintenance.
Individual grant requests are capped at $10,000, with a minimum 50 percent match required. Funding is limited, and projects will be considered competitively based on criteria established by the PMVB.
Approved projects must be completed by December 1, 2026, as grant funds will not carry over into 2027. Funds will be disbursed on a reimbursement basis upon submission of proof of expenditure and project completion, and recipients may be asked to provide before‑and‑after photos.
“Tourism, the top industry in the Poconos, is deeply committed to supporting the communities that welcome our 30 million annual visitors,” said Chris Barrett, President/CEO, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. “The PMVB Community Impact Grant is just one of the many ways tourism keeps giving back, playing a key role in helping important projects get finished and making a real difference for everyone in and around the Pocono Mountains.”
Applications must be submitted electronically via email to membership@poconos.org no later than May 15, 2026. Applicants will receive confirmation of receipt within 48 hours, and funding decisions are expected to be announced after May 29, 2026.
