Harrisburg, PA — Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity announced today that $314 million was distributed to nearly 511,000 Pennsylvanians in 2025 who were approved for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program.
“The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program provides meaningful relief to many Pennsylvanians who are living on fixed incomes,” Treasurer Garrity said. “With utility costs squeezing household budgets, these rebates are even more essential in helping some of our most vulnerable neighbors cover necessary expenses.”
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program assists residents over the age of 65, widows and widowers age 50 and older, and Pennsylvanians with disabilities age 18 and older.
Income limits are adjusted annually. Applicants may exclude half of their Social Security income when determining eligibility. The maximum standard rebate is $1,000.
Applications for the 2025 Property Tax/Rent Rebate are now being accepted through June 30, 2026. The income limitation for the 2025 tax year is $48,110.00. Payments to approved applicants will be made starting July 1, 2026. Eligible Pennsylvanians can find more information on eligibility and how to apply at: www.pa.gov/agencies/revenue/ptrr.
