2020 Lehigh Valley Women’s Summit Announces New Date

Cedar Crest College, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and the Chamber’s Women’s Business Council announce the 2020 Lehigh Valley Women’s Summit has been rescheduled due to COVID-19 stay at home orders.

 

Lehigh Valley, PA – Every June, the partnership of Cedar Crest College, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber’s Women’s Business Council and the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley presents the largest gathering of influential and powerful women in the Greater Lehigh Valley region. The Lehigh Valley Women’s Summit, previously scheduled for June 4, 2020, will now take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Wind Creek Event Center, 77 Wind Creek Blvd, Bethlehem, PA 18015 from 7:45am-3:30pm. Early bird ticket pricing has been extended and tickets can be purchased HERE. 

The 2020 Lehigh Valley Women’s Summit is a day of inspiration, motivation and education for over 500 women in the Lehigh Valley.  2020 keynote speakers are award-winning journalist and documentarian, Soledad O’Brien, and independent producer and former President of Entertainment for Telemundo, Nely Galán. Co-emcees are two local female community champions and entrepreneurs, Ashley Russo, President of ASR Media Productions and Zakiya Smalls, Co-Founder of J&Z Professional Services. Attendees of the all-day event can expect powerful keynote addresses, educational and informative breakout sessions, networking opportunities and a vendor marketplace featuring business and personal care services.

Soledad O’Brien

Nely Galán

Media Entrepreneur, New York Times Best-Selling Author

Nely Galán is a self-made media mogul. Dubbed the Tropical Tycoon by the New York Times Magazine, she was the first Latina President of Entertainment for a U.S. television network (Telemundo). She is an Emmy Award-winning producer of over 700 episodes of television in English and Spanish, which she produced through her multi-media company Galan Entertainment. Galán is the founder of The Adelante Movement, which seeks to empower Latina and multicultural women economically and entrepreneurially under Coca Cola’s 5by20 Global Initiative to train 5 million women by the year 2020. She is the author of The NY Times bestselling book SELF MADE: Becoming Empowered, Self-Reliant, and Rich in Every Way about the revolution in women’s entrepreneurship led by multicultural women in the US and emerging women around the world. Her book has been published in English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. Her next book DON’T BUY SHOES, BUY BUILDINGS! is about investing and thinking like an owner while you work for others. Galán holds a masters and doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

Ashley Russo

Event Emcee Ashley Russo, Emmy® Winning Executive Producer and Owner, ASR Media Productions

Ashley Russo, president of ASR Media Productions, is a three-time Emmy® award-winning executive producer and host of The PEAK TV and St. Luke’s HealthNow. A twenty-year media veteran, Ashley graduated from the New York University Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. She is also creator and host of a weekly podcast, Unscripted with Russo. Deeply committed to her community, Ashley serves on the boards of United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, Wildlands Conservancy and is a member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors. The recipient of several leadership awards, Ashley was most recently honored with Girl Scouts of Eastern PA’s Take the Lead award and United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley’s Community Builder award and the Betsy Torrence Philanthropist of the Year from Women United.

 

Zakiya Smalls

Entrepreneur, Co-Founder of J&Z Professional Services

Zakiya Smalls’ mission is to offer a service that can make any facility sparkle while providing jobs within the community. From her days at Fordham University to the many nights spent researching and developing ways to succeed in today’s economy, Zakiya had visions of long term success & growth for J&Z Professional Services.  She shared a passion for owning a cleaning business & decided to embark on a partnership to form a commercial cleaning company that provides excellent service for each and every type of commercial property at every step.
