In early 2022, From the Roots, a real estate development and venue management company headed by John M. Oakes, acquired 200+ acres of land (including the 40 million-dollar development formerly known as Mt. Laurel Performing Arts Center and Tom Ridge Pavilion) and began to revitalize and renovate the complex into a state-of-the-art facility called POCONOS PARKTM that will play host to not only local and private events, but world-class tour productions, multi-day festivals, and other special events.

The complex includes two sizable venues: Amphitheater at Poconos ParkTM a 10,000+ capacity, open-air amphitheater with thousands of seats near the stage and a beautiful grass lawn for thousands more to enjoy entertainment in the great outdoors, that can be converted to a 2,600 seat, fully-enclosed venue for year-round performances; and Lakeside Theater at Poconos ParkTMa 10,000 square-foot banquet hall located on a 90-acre scenic lake that can seat up to 400 people for private events such as banquets, corporate retreats, weddings, etc., and serve as a facility for first-class VIP experiences for concerts, festivals and other large events.

The Pocono Chamber of Commerce is excited to host a sneak peak for the public at the property this upcoming Thursday September 8th from 12:00PM to 1:00PM. The ribbon cutting ceremonies will begin promptly at 12:30PM. “We are excited to see the revitalization of such a historic property here in the Poconos bringing in more entertainment and activities to the region,” stated Hayden Rinde, Manager of the Pocono Chamber of Commerce.

Given its close proximity to New York City, Philadelphia, Newark, New Jersey and other major metropolitan cities, From the Roots aims to make POCONOS PARK a “go-to” facility for the entire East Coast by bringing the facility into the 21st Century and bringing in big-name entertainment from around the globe. POCONOS PARK should have a significant impact on local tourism as well as the local economy in the years to come.

This ribbon cutting will be the precursor to the COWBOY LUAU, the first major event to be held at Poconos Park on September 16 & 17th. COWBOY LUAU is a multi-day country music festival featuring Brantley Gilbert and Brett Young. More events will be announced in the near future.
