Crayola and Audible Inspire Creativity in Classrooms Nationwide

Two Lehigh Valley schools among a dozen across the country that received mobile  Audible Story Studios for the start of the new school year

EASTON, PA & NEWARK, NJ (Aug. 29, 2025) — Crayola, the global leader in creative expression, and Audible, Inc., the leading creator and provider of premium audio storytelling, have awarded 10 schools across the country with Audible Story Studios—mobile listening stations designed to inspire creativity for children through audio storytelling.

The Audible Story Studios were awarded through a sweepstakes held earlier this year during Crayola Creativity Week, a free global creative learning program that highlights the power of creativity across core subjects, including language arts and literacy. Audible was one of the official sponsors of Creativity Week 2025—themed “Imagination in Action”—which brought together more than 820,000 teachers and 13.2 million students from 122 countries.

In addition to the national winners, Audible has also gifted Audible Story Studios to two public schools in Easton, Pa., home to Crayola’s headquarters and to two public schools in Newark, N.J., its headquarters city. The donations to Paxinosa Elementary School and Ada B. Cheston Elementary School in Easton and McKinley Elementary School and Marion P. Thomas Charter School in Newark, reinforce both companies’ commitment to their headquarters cities.

Students returning to school from summer break can now enjoy Audible Story Studios, which include tablets, headphones, cozy seating, a three-year gift membership to Audible, and $1,000 in Crayola products—all packaged in a mobile cart that can easily travel between classrooms. These resources aim to help educators foster learning, creativity and imagination through audio storytelling while engaging their students in creative experiences that blend literacy with self-expression.

The initiative builds on the collaboration last winter between Audible and Crayola, designed to inspire children and empower educators with tools that combine audio storytelling with creative activities.

“At Audible, we believe in the transformative power of stories and imagination to catalyze a more equitable society. Our collaboration with Crayola brings this vision to life, reflecting our commitment to expanding opportunities for youth globally, as well as investing in our headquarters city of Newark, NJ,” said Aisha Glover, Global Head of Urban Innovation at Audible. “By bringing audio storytelling into the classroom, the Audible Story Studios will provide another tool for educators to improve children’s literacy, ignite creativity and encourage self-expression—all essential skills for lifelong learning. We’re proud to help foster the next generation of creative thinkers, both around the world and right here in our hometown.”

The following schools and educators were randomly selected from thousands of sweepstakes entries:

  • Saluda Middle School, Lexington, S.C. (Sherry Minick)
  • Worley Elementary, Canton, Ohio (Mindy Ickes)
  • Three Rivers School, Channahon, Ill. (Lise Offerman)
  • Spring Hill Junior High, Longview, Texas (Jayne Pleasant)
  • Yellow Creek School Center, Middlesboro, Ky (Amber Hinkle)
  • Tikigaq School, Point Hope, Alaska (Harlee Harvey)
  • Woodbine Elementary School, Sacramento, Calif. (Brian Peck)
  • Meadow Lane Elementary, Lincoln, NE (Kim Ziemann)
  • St. Agnes Catholic School, Louisville, KY (Laura Dant)
  • Kleberg Elementary School, Dallas, Texas (Deborah Sims)

“Crayola has long supported creative teaching and learning in schools. Listening to stories can be a powerful experience that not only stirs the imagination but also encourages children to put that imagination into action, building life skills such as literacy, problem-solving, critical thinking, and self-expression,” said Victoria Lozano, Executive Vice President, Crayola Brand Marketing. “Through this unique collaboration with Audible and Crayola’s Campaign for Creativity, we are fostering creativity in young minds and giving educators and parents more tools to nurture and engage children’s imaginations through creative moments.”

Last November, Crayola and Audible also released a collection of exclusive “Imagination in Action” activity sheets—ranging from coloring projects to creative sketch prompts—for listeners to creatively engage with select Audible children’s titles such as Disney Frozen: Olaf’s Quest and Peppa Pig’s Play-A-Long Podcast leading up to Crayola Creativity Week.

Launched in 2022, Creativity Week is a standards-aligned, seven-day educational event that provides schools, families, and libraries with inspiring and interactive content delivered by world-renowned creative talent to support creative learning across subject areas. The annual virtual event gives educators and parents resources to help nurture children’s creativity and supplies children with the tools to bring their ideas to life, encouraging imaginative expression and innovative thinking. Crayola Creativity Week is an integral part of the brand’s Campaign for Creativity advocacy program, which speaks to the importance creativity as an essential life skill in preparing children for success in any career.
