Zanelli Urges Supporters to Register as Oct. 10 Deadline Looms

Sept. 29, Bethlehem – Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania understands that Amy Zanelli has unwavering passion to ensure that women of all ages, cultures and economic backgrounds have access to compassionate reproductive health care. The statewide organization has endorsed Zanelli, the Democratic candidate for Lehigh County Board of Commissioners District 3.

“The attacks on women’s access to reproductive care have reached a fever pitch. That’s why we need leaders like Amy Zanelli. She understands firsthand how incredibly important these vital services are to help women stay healthy and strong. Her commitment to preserve these rights is unquestionable. When most kids were playing in the school yard, she was serving as a volunteer escort at age 13. That passion to serve never went away. She remains a tireless advocate today, helping recently to deliver petitions with 30,000 signatures to Senator Toomey’s office in Allentown to protest a plan to defund Planned Parenthood. We’re proud to stand with and support Amy Zanelli and do for her what she has spent nearly a lifetime doing for Planned Parenthood.”

Zanelli, a strong supporter of women’s rights, workplace equality, and skilled labor is a progressive candidate, whose platform includes support for:

·       Working families, equal pay, safe workplaces (proposed federal workplace standards protecting pregnant women)

·       Women’s health care, reproductive rights (pro-choice initiatives)

·       Senior citizen housing and safe cross walks (improvements to Cedar Brook Nursing Home, Lutheran Manor cross walk)

·       Recovering victims of opioid addiction (creation of a clubhouse in collaboration with local non-profits)

·       Economic and infrastructure development while preserving our environment (attracting business and good paying jobs while maintaining the Valley’s parks and agriculture)

Community support for her campaign grows, but Zanelli reminds supporters “if you are not registered, you cannot vote on Nov. 7th.”  October 10th is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 7th General Election. For information about registering to vote
