CENTER FOR VISION LOSS, Allentown needsvolunteers to be “Annie’s Angels” to do home visits, read mail, and provide companionship.  Volunteers to drive customers to doctor appointments, shopping, or center activities are also needed.  Hours are flexible and are determined by need.  Training will be provided.  Call Rita Lang, 610-433-6018, rita.lang@centerforvisionloss.org

 

COMMUNITY BIKE WORKS, Allentown is looking for “Earn-A-Bike” instructors for children ages 9-17.  Volunteers will mentor and assist children in repairing bicycles.  Commitment is 6-8pm one night a week for 12 weeks.  No experience necessary.  Training provided.  Call Dave Edinger, 610-434-1140, dedinger@communitybikeworks.org.

 

GOOD SHEPHERD REHABILITATION NETWORK, Allentown has rewarding volunteer opportunities at their main campus and other sites for the following:  companions for long-term care residents, patient/resident transportation, patient ambassadors, and clerical assistance.  Gift Shop help is also needed 9am-noon Monday through Friday at the main campus.  Call JoAnn Frey, 610-776-3125, jfrey@gsrh.org.

MEALS ON WHEELS OF LEHIGH COUNTY, Allentown needs volunteers (18+ years) to go grocery shopping for homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in an area of Lehigh County that works best for you.  Flexible scheduling based on client’s needs (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).  A 40 minute orientation is required.  Orientation scheduled for Friday 1/19 @1:00pm and Wednesday 1/24 @6:30pm, or call/email to schedule a one-on-one that fits your schedule.  Call Lindsay Fly, 610-841-7132, lfly@mealsonwheelslc.org.

SHARECARE FAITH IN ACTION, Bethlehem is looking for volunteer drivers (18+ years) to help safely transport people who are elderly and/or disabled to and from doctor appointments and with grocery shopping in the Lehigh Valley.  Volunteers are also needed to help others who can’t get out on their own through visitation, socializing, and taking them out of their home environment.  All volunteers are asked to attend a 2 hour orientation/training.  Call Cheryl Wilson, 610-867-2177, sharecare8@aol.com.
