Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! For Wellness: Tannersville Cranberry Bog – 1:00PM – 3:30PM EDT at 552 Cherry Lane Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. This delicate bog ecosystem is a National Natural Landmark under the Nature Conservancy. An Environmental Educator from Monroe County Conservation District will guide us. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Pre-Volent Appalachian Bat Count – 8:30PM – 9:30PM EDT at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, PA 18049. Go batty with us! Pennsylvania’s common bat species often use buildings as their roosts; the barn at DRPWS is one of their favorite haunts. Learn about their population changes – and enjoy a bat cookie! Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! For Wellness: Graver Arboretum – 10:00AM – 12:00PM EDT at Graver Arboretum, 1581 Bushkill Center Road, Bath PA 18014. Rhododendrons might be blooming as we stroll with our guide, Tom Shotzbarger. For 40+ years, conservationists Dr. Lee & Virginia Graver worked to create an environment conducive for wildflowers, ferns, rhododendrons, & native & rare trees, including over 150 conifer species. Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! For Wellness: Cherry Valley Nat’l Wildlife Refuge – 1:00PM – 3:00PM EDT at CVNWR, 2138 Croasdale Road, Stroudsburg PA 18360. This 193-acre, a former golf course, is managed by the US Fish & Wildlife Service. Among the Refuge trails, we’ll take two easy hiking loops going through varied terrain, lots of great views. The Ironton Rail Trail is on what used to be the Ironton Railroad. It’s near the former Crane Ironworks, one of the very first iron works using anthracite coal.
