On April 23rd, as part of its annual Take the Lead Lehigh Valley program, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) honored four local Lehigh Valley women leaders at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, celebrating their commitment to exemplifying courage, confidence and character to help make the world a better place. Through this program, four Girl Scouts were matched with the honorees to learn more about how they navigate their careers as women and how they better the Lehigh Valley community in diverse ways.

The four women leaders that were honored this year are:

  • Carmen Bell, Senior Director of Healthy Aging, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley
  • Katarah A. Jordan, Chief Executive Officer, Boys & Girls Club of Allentown
  • Danielle Joseph, Executive Vice President, Diversity Councils, Lehigh Valley Chamber
  • Stephanie Sherry, Vice President, Corporate Communications, Olympus Corporation of the Americas

This Take the Lead event was transformed to represent the Girl Scout Program’s Pillars of STEM, Life Skills, Outdoors, and Entrepreneurship, and the night was filled with activities, networking, and, of course, Girl Scout Cookies. This ceremony serves as GSEP’s signature fundraising event – helping to provide hundreds of Girl Scouts throughout the Lehigh Valley region with financial support so they can experience all that Girl Scout camp has to offer.
