ALLENTOWN –  Eddie and Naylin Rivera have purchased 1809 W. Allen Street in the heart of Allentown’s West End and plan to convert the space to Style With Care, a salon for cancer patients and others who suffer hair loss.

 

Jeff Barber of Lehigh Financial Group LLC arranged the SBA financing. Stacey Figueroa of EXP Realty in Allentown was the listing agent for the commercial property. Jayme Kerr of Berkshire Hathaway in Allentown was the buyer’s agent. The sale was completed July 24. The purchase price was not disclosed. The building had been an advertising agency.

 

Naylin Rivera is a licensed cosmetologist and has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Cedar Crest College. She has many years’ experience working with men and women suffering from hair loss caused by chemotherapy and other health issues. She had been looking for a place to start her own salon for eight years. “My husband found this online just when I was ready to give up,” Naylin said.

 

The couple plan to do some renovations to the 1,500-square-foot building and to open in the fall. They are planning two separate rooms so their clients can have privacy. They will offer wigs and hairpieces and other services for men and women coping with hair loss.

 

Naylin said her nursing background helps her work with cancer patients who often lose their hair while undergoing chemotherapy. “It’s very rewarding to be able to help them,” she says. The couple plans to hire a stylist and an assistant.
