Trexlertown, PA – July 16, 2025 — This Friday night, the energy at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center will hit a new high as Friday Night Under the Lights brings together competition, camaraderie, and a record-breaking mission. The evening features a reimagined Corporate Challenge and a highly anticipated Flying Kilo Record Attempt by Jamie Alvord of Edge Cycling to benefit the Team Arnav Foundation.

Corporate Challenge: Teamwork, Speed, and Local Pride

This year’s Corporate Challenge brings a fresh twist to a fan-favorite event. Teams will now consist of three riders, each completing two laps around the track to cover the traditional 2km total distance. The new relay-style format promises even more excitement, strategy, and all-out effort.

Returning to the competition are Buckeye Pipeline and Valley Preferred, both veteran teams with plenty of local pride on the line.

Flying Kilo Record Attempt: Jamie Alvord Rides for History and to Raise Money for Children Battling Rare Cancers

Wear yellow  🎗️ and support the night’s headline moment — Jamie Alvord of Edge Cycling, will take on the Flying Kilo Track Record in honor of Arnav Krishna, a former teammate and talented young cyclist whose final race was the Standing Kilo at Junior Track Nationals before his life was tragically cut short by pediatric osteosarcoma.

The current record to beat is 1:01.4, set in 2005. Alvord’s effort is not only a shot at history, but a mission to support the Team Arnav Foundation, raising awareness and funds for earlier diagnoses, better treatments, and hope for children battling rare cancers.

“This isn’t just about going fast,” Alvord said. “It’s about giving everything I have for Arnav, for kids like him, and for the sport that brought us together.”

Alvord and Edge Cycling aim to raise $10,140 for the Foundation — inspired by the record time and donations are encouraged throughout the evening.

Team Arnav donations can be made at: https://www.teamarnav.org/donate

Be there and wear yellow.

Gates open at 6:00 PM with races kicking off shortly after. Whether you’re cheering on your coworkers or witnessing a potential new track record, this is a night at the velodrome you won’t want to miss.
