Lamont McClure and Gracedale Administrator Jennifer Stewart-King announce a pilot program which will begin in September. Students in the nursing home’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program will now receive a salary of $250 a week in addition to free tuition for the four-week training program.

“We are being aggressive in re-tooling our Gracedale workforce as we prepare to battle the upcoming cold and flu season,” says Lamont McClure.

“This pilot program will open opportunities for people who want to enter the medical profession, but haven’t been able to forgo a salary while they get trained,” says Jennifer Stewart-King. “Students will be considered contract workers while enrolled in the program, but have the opportunity to get hired into full-time positions once they complete their training.”

This change is made possible by CARES Act money which allows for the hiring of staff. Anyone who is interested in applying for the Gracedale CNA program should contact Jessica Leeper at 610-829-3645 or jleeper@northamptoncounty.org
