Chestnuthill Township Business & Civic Association (CBASS) held a very successful inaugural meeting on January 23, 2025, at Doris’s Cafe, located upstairs of Kinsley’s ShopRite in Brodheadsville. The event saw an impressive turnout with over 20 attendees, including business owners and township residents.
The vision and mission behind CBASS is to inform, connect, and engage the community. The association’s dedication to fostering mutual respect and collaboration, aiming to create a vibrant, prosperous, and connected Chestnuthill Township is key.
In opening remarks, the structure of the association and its immediate priorities were laid out. The importance of establishing a transparent framework to guide CBASS’s activities and initiatives, as well as exploring ways to stay informed about local government initiatives and ensure community voices are heard in decision-making processes were also discussed.
Attendees had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses or roles in the community, followed by an open discussion about their concerns and goals for the community. Surveys were distributed to gather feedback and understand priorities for future actions. Key concerns raised included Township Regulations, Township Governance, Economic Development, Township Planning, and Taxation. After discussing these key issues, the conversation turned to immediate action items that the community can undertake together to address these concerns. The engaging dialogue highlighted the community’s commitment to working together to shape a better future for Chestnuthill Township.
The next CBASS meeting is scheduled for February 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM, once again at Doris’s Cafe, located upstairs of Kinsley’s ShopRite of Brodheadsville. We encourage all business owners, civic leaders, and residents to attend and participate in this ongoing community effort.
