Allentown, PA – February 18, 2025— Camelot for Children, a cherished cornerstone of the Lehigh Valley community since 1985, is thrilled to celebrate 40 years of serving children with special needs and medical complexities. “Camelot for Children’s mission is to enrich the lives of children with special needs and medical complexities,” said Emily Werner, PT, MSPT, MBA, Executive Director. “We couldn’t have reached this incredible milestone without the generosity of individual and corporate donors, countless hours of volunteer support, and the tireless efforts of our staff and board members. Special thanks to Nicholas R. Weidman, our Board President from GVA Wealth, for his leadership and dedication to ensuring Camelot is healthy and able to serve local children for generations to come.”

Camelot for Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children with special needs and medical complexities through free, year-round social, recreational, and educational opportunities. By creating a nurturing and inclusive community, Camelot inspires confidence, fosters friendships, and celebrates the unique potential of every child.

Co-founded in 1985 by Mrs. Patricia Mullin, Camelot for Children has provided year-round social, recreational, and educational opportunities to thousands of children at no cost. Through tailored programs and meaningful community partnerships, Camelot creates a safe, inclusive environment that nurtures growth, inspires confidence, and builds lifelong friendships.

Over the past four decades, Camelot has become a vital resource for families in the Lehigh Valley and beyond, creating transformative experiences for children and their families. By offering free (because of generous donors) programs and services, the organization ensures that no family faces additional financial burdens while accessing much-needed support and connection. Our programming also helps transform high school and college students by creating future leaders and compassionate, responsible citizens, as our volunteers learn valuable skills and empathy while serving our community.

“Camelot is a place where you can be yourself. It is a safe haven for all the children who attend. This is a place where Samantha can come to make friends and not worry about being judged. She is encouraged to try things on her own and not have someone else do the project for her. She enjoys new experiences that she may not have a chance to elsewhere. We are blessed to be part of the Camelot family,” shares one grateful parent.

As Camelot for Children looks ahead to the future, it remains committed to its mission and tagline: Enriching lives of children with special needs. The organization invites the community to join the celebration by volunteering or supporting its programs through donations.

To mark this milestone, the organization will host a Ruby Gala on March 29, 2025, at the new DaVinci Science Center in Allentown. This celebration will honor decades of service, resilience, and community support. For more information on how you can support Camelot for Children or the Ruby Gala or to learn how you can support Camelot for Children, please visit www.camelotforchildren.org or contact Executive Director at 610-791-5683.
