Zanelli Sweeps 3rd District in Lehigh County

“Now the real work begins.”

Nov. 8, Bethlehem, Pa. – Amy Zanelli’s message has been loud and clear and voters decisively voiced their choice for her during this week’s general election. Zanelli locked in 63% of the vote and won her place on the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners starting in January 2018.

As District 3 Commissioner-elect she’s enjoying the solid support received from voters in West Bethlehem, Catasauqua, Fountain Hill, East Allentown, South Allentown and Hanover Township in Tuesday’s election.

Her opponent, Robert Smith, conceded the race before 11pm Tuesday after the solid margin of difference became apparent and put Zanelli in the lead early in evening. “I look forward to doing great things for Lehigh County,” Zanelli said as she gathered her campaign team in west Bethlehem Tuesday night.

“Now the real work begins,” Zanelli said. “And I could not be more proud to serve such a loving, progressive, deserving community. What a difference a year can make! Let’s make real differences this coming year together.”

Zanelli built a grassroots support network that included endorsements from organized labor, the women’s movement and groups supporting a progressive agenda. She plans to pursue her proposal for an addiction clubhouse, to be a voice for senior citizens, and continue to be a strong supporter of labor and an advocate for workplace equality, equal pay and working families.
