Bethlehem, PA; June 2, 2022 – The nearly 2,000 volunteers for the U.S. Senior Open Championship have a treat in store for them, apart from watching some of their favorite golfers. Service Electric Cable TV & Communications is the Regional Presenter for the Volunteer Headquarters, a 3,200 square-foot, air conditioned tent that will serve as the center of operations for all volunteer activities. Through local partners, Service Electric has arranged daily breakfast and snacks, plus a week filled with surprises for the volunteers.
Inside the headquarters each day, volunteers will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win a variety of prizes offered by Service Electric and their regional partners. Those entrants will also be automatically entered into a final drawing to win additional prizes at the end of the Championship. The headquarters will be adorned in golf-themed decorations, plus there will be daily giveaways, games, a selfie station with “celebrity golfers” and other fun activities. The championship will be shown on four large TVs inside the tent throughout the event, giving the volunteers a view of the action from the U.S. Senior Open while taking a break from their duties.
In addition, Service Electric Network (SEN) will be on-hand in the tent to talk with volunteers and record footage for “The Mike Zambelli Show” to air in the following weeks. Breakfast and snacks will be served daily, thanks to Service Electric’s partners including Red Robin, McDonald’s, Burger King, Factory LLC and Wegmans, plus raffle prizes will be awarded to volunteers from Copperhead Grille, Hotel Bethlehem, Steel Club, X-Golf, J Hilburn and others.
“We are so pleased that many local companies stepped up to partner with us for this event,” remarked Mike Starner, senior business development & government affairs manager at Service Electric. “We want to let the volunteers know that they are appreciated, so our marketing team and sponsors have prepared an amazing experience for them. I’m sure it will make their day!”
“Service Electric’s focus on the 2022 U.S. Senior Open volunteers is so appropriate because, to put it simply, we couldn’t run the championship without them. We are grateful for Service Electric’s support of the 42nd U.S. Senior Open and their unique ability to not only help us show our appreciation to the volunteers but also to put a bright spotlight on their stories.”
The 42nd U.S. Senior Open runs from Tuesday, June 21 through Sunday, June 26 at Saucon Valley Country Club. A special ‘volunteer appreciation day’ will take place on Monday, June 20 where volunteers and members of Saucon Valley Country Club can get a ‘sneak peek’ at the championship and become familiar with the course layout and requirements.
