Mary Meuser Memorial Library to offer a Look Back
at the Vietnam and Korean Wars on Thursday, November 6
Mary Meuser Library presents Barry Willever’s “Reflections of a Vietnam Vet” and “A Vision of Life in a Korean War MASH unit through the historical fiction of Rebecca Price Janney” as she discusses “East of The Sun”, her new historical fiction novel. Join us on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Fellowship Hall of the United Fellowship Lutheran Church, 2115 Washington Boulevard in Wilson Borough, at 7:00 p.m.
Barry Willever served as President of the Vietnam Veterans of America Lehigh Valley Chapter #415 for over 20 years. He also served as a past Vice President of the Pennsylvania State Council of the Vietnam Veterans of America and is currently the Second Vice President of the Quads Dusters and Searchlight Association.
Local author Rebecca Price Janney will discuss “East of the Sun”, her first novel in The Heirs of Freedom series. The novel is a story of unexpected twists and turns, about God’s generational blessings, about love in a way seldom modeled today, about hope between a rock and a hard place, all set in a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) during the Korean War.
At fifteen, Rebecca Price Janney faced-off with the local newspaper editor, who nearly laughed her out of his office when she asked for a job. Until she displayed her ace—a portfolio of celebrity interviews she’d written for a bigger publication. Soon she was covering the Philadelphia Phillies. She’s now a historian and award-winning author of twenty-six published books, including her beloved Easton Series. She lives with her family in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley where her ancestors settled nearly 300 years ago.
Light refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is appreciated. Call the Library at 610-258-3040.
