Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber to host Honors & Hors D’oeuvres Awards Ceremony

The Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce, of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Steel Club, are thrilled to host a SOLD-OUT Honors & Hors D’oeuvres Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 25th. This event is dedicated to celebrating local community members and businesses for their outstanding achievements in helping and supporting the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Area over the past year.

The event will include opportunities to network, enjoy food provided by Brooklyn’s Catering and Local Mama Catering Company, purchase drinks from cash bars provided by Black River Farms and Lost Tavern Brewing, and to celebrate the accomplishments of the awardees. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase during the event. The raffle proceeds will benefit the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber’s newly formed scholarship fund, which supports our future business and community leaders of the Saucon Valley School District. For more information about Honors and Hors D’oeuvres, visit the event page.

“This is going to be a fantastic event as we gather to honor local businesses and nonprofits that have given so much to our community while investing in the people of the Borough of Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township to make this area a wonderful place to live, work and play,” said Jessica O’Donnell, Executive Vice President of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber. She noted that “each honoree has been a great partner of the Chamber and community, especially during this past year. We appreciate and cherish the relationships that we have with these exceptional award recipients and cannot wait to celebrate them!”

Ricky Gower, the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber Board Chair, said, “Honors and Hors d’oeuvres has quickly become one of my favorite Hellertown/Lower Saucon Chamber events and I am thrilled we are able move forward with this year’s especially. It will be a beautiful event at a great outdoor location with inspiring award recipients while showcasing local small businesses—doesn’t get any better!”

Grace Spirk, the General Manager of Steel Club, commented, “Steel Club is honored to support the recognition of this year’s well-deserved awardees. These businesses demonstrate resilience and dedication while continuing to have a positive impact on our community.”

The following awards will be presented:

  • Champion Non-Profit: Saucon Valley Community Center – The Champion Non-Profit Award is awarded to the non-profit organization in our community that always finds a way to win. They consistently set and achieve goals for themselves that cause them to stretch and grow, causing those around them to grow with them. They know that the only way to fail is to quit, and the Champion Non-Profit NEVER QUITS! They move forward despite the adversity that presents itself whenever doing something that truly matters. They are champions, and when they win, we all win!
  • Community Lifestyle: The Team at Heintzelman Funeral Homes – This recognition is granted to a business/group who demonstrates excellence in connecting with the community for the betterment of its quality of life and is recognized as being widely embraced and supported by residents and the business community.
  • Community Partner: Dewey Fire Company & EMS, Lower Saucon Fire Rescue, & Steel City Volunteer Fire Company – This award goes to the business, organization, or person who lives the word “Community” with consistency, professionalism, and integrity. This business, organization, or person can be counted on to promote the sense of community in our area, modeling ways to make a positive impact without regard for their own needs.
  • Good Samaritan: Westley Morris of Saucon Valley Massage Therapy This award is bestowed upon the person or company that finds a need and meets it. The Good Samaritan doesn’t cross the street to avoid a person, group, or situation in need; the Good Samaritan runs toward the situation, takes ownership when others won’t, and gets the job done.  The Good Samaritan is motivated by blessing others, and they set the strongest example of community for all of us.
  • Small Business Leadership: Black River Farms Vineyard & Winery – This honor is granted to a business that has demonstrated integrity in everyday management and in reaction to challenging circumstances: a business known for its character and ethics as much as for its duration of operation. They will be honored for displaying excellence that permeates the community infrastructure.

When: May 25th from 5:15 PM – 7 PM

Where: Morris J. Dimmick Park Pavilion (Hellertown, PA)
