The Whitehall Area Chamber is proud to partner with Whitehall Township to bring their first ever Christmas in July on July 25th, 2021.

The Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber, is pleased to present the first ever “Christmas [in July] at the Grim Barn” on Sunday, July 25th from 4-7 PM. Partnering with Whitehall Township, this family-friendly event is designed to support local businesses with a festive atmosphere at the historic Grim Barn property on Lehnert Road. With over 40 craft and business vendors, as well as a variety of food trucks, live music and children’s activities, the holiday spirit will be live and well in Whitehall.

Originally planned for December 13, the Whitehall Area Chamber’s Tree lighting event was postponed during the holiday COVID-19 spike in the Lehigh Valley. Moving the event to the summer provided the opportunity to reinvent and grow in a safer environment now that the COVID-19 Vaccine has been widely available and distributed throughout the area. Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, has roughly 64% of residents have received at least one or both doses of the vaccine.

“When the event was postponed in December, it was taken with a both understandable acceptance and disappointment,” said Kylie Adams, Assistant Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “No one EVER wants to be the one to ‘cancel Christmas,’ but it was unavoidable in terms of keeping our community safe. The Chamber could not be more excited to finally be having this event now that things are moving towards normalcy, and we’ll be having fun with bringing Christmas into our summer celebration! We are pleased to continue to work with Whitehall Township on this event and to bring some fun to Whitehall!”

The event will feature local businesses and vendors, such as Doxboy LLC, who sells beef jerky, as well as Elle’s Contemporary Closet, who recently set up a permanent brick-and-mortar in Bethlehem, PA. A multitude of craft vendors and non-profits will also be present sharing their wares.

“We will also be featuring live music from the Knobby Whistlers and Tim Harakal,” said Jessica O’Donnell, EVP of Affiliated Chambers and the Northern Tier for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “Similar to Whitehall’s Summer Sounds, which is typically held at the same property, we want to bring a bit of our tradition to this inaugural event.”

The event will also feature a “Candy Cane Hunt” for children (and children at heart), 50/50 tickets (to benefit the Lehigh County Humane Society), visits with Anna and Elsa of “Frozen” (courtesy of Storybook Party), and even visits with a summery Santa Claus!

“It may be July, but the holiday spirit is overdue in Whitehall,” said Adams. “We are lucky that our community has rallied to keep one another safe through this last year, and we are ready to return to a sense of normalcy as we safely return to events like this one.”
