NCC Offers Intro to Fire Services

Learn foundational skills to save lives

BETHLEHEM, PA – Northampton Community College, in partnership with the Northampton County Fire School, is offering an entry -level fire training course designed to introduce new firefighters to basic information including an overview of the fire service, fire service organization, firefighter safety, personal protective equipment, tools and emergency lighting, and backing apparatus. This is the first of five levels (courses) in the curriculum.

The “Introduction to the Fire Service” class will meet Thurs., Jan. 5, 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.; Sat., Jan. 7 , 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Thurs., Jan. 12, 6:30 p.m – 10:30 p.m., at Northampton County Fire School, 6 Nagys Hill Road, Bangor, PA 18013. The program is free to Northampton County Responders thanks to a sponsorship from Northampton County Emergency Management. Tuition for non-Northampton County Responders is $165.

To register, interested participants should visit www.ncfireschool.org. To view courses, click on “Search for Scheduled Courses” (left side navigation bar) and select “All Fire” from the dropdown menu. Registration occurs through the Student Portal (left side navigation bar). First-time registrants will need to create their account following the prompted instructions.
