Lehigh Valley Health & Human Services Job Fair Invites Students and Young Professionals to Penn State Lehigh Valley on April 13

Bethlehem, PA – [April 11, 2023]Magellan Health, Inc. today announced that Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania, Inc. (Magellan), in collaboration with Penn State Lehigh Valley, Lehigh County Human Services, and Northampton County Human Services, will host a free Lehigh Valley Health & Human Services Job Fair to assist with the provider workforce situation in the region. The event is scheduled for April 13, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Penn State Lehigh Valley (2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley, PA 18034), and the event is free and open to the general public. Magellan currently administers behavioral health benefits through HealthChoices contracts with Bucks, Cambria, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Northampton counties.

This job fair will offer attendees the chance to learn about a variety of positions available, including internship opportunities. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable insight from local career services staff and healthcare professionals through a variety of workshops and a plenary discussion.

The Lehigh Valley Health & Human Services Job Fair will include:

  • 40+ providers to discuss a variety of positions available. Go here to see the list of providers.
  • “A day in the life of a health and human services professional” plenary discussion scheduled from 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
  • Career services staff from Cedar Crest College and Penn State Lehigh Valley hosting workshops on topics to include: salary negotiation, internship and career strategy, virtual interview best practices, resume tips, and social media recommendations.

“Local health and human services providers continue to have a challenge related to the hiring of employees. In recognition of this challenge and in collaboration with our county partners and provider network, we are hosting this event at the wonderful venue of Penn State Lehigh Valley to create increased connections for students, young professionals, and providers,” said Tom Walker, senior account executive for Lehigh County and Northampton County, Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania. “It is our hope that the providers in attendance will see tangible improvements in hiring, and that students and young professionals will realize the benefit of choosing a career in health and human services.”
