THE WHITEHALL AREA CHAMBER ANNOUNCES 2023 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

The Whitehall Area Chamber is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2023 Whitehall Area Chamber Scholarship! This scholarship fund was established by the Chamber to provide funding to future business and community leaders in the Whitehall Area and is awarded annually to a graduating senior from Whitehall and Catasauqua School Districts.

The 2023 recipients of this $500 scholarship are Alexis Bundra, Ciara Rogers, and Sophia Gallo of Whitehall Area High School, as well as, Alana Henry, Cheyenne Gioielli, and Mason Forstoffer of Catasauqua High School.

“This year was a record-breaking year in terms of the number of applications received,” said Kylie-Adams Weiss, AVP of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “Our Scholarship Committee and Board of Directors had their work cut out for them as they carefully selected our six awardees; the students selected are top-notch and extremely deserving! We look forward to celebrating their success in their collegiate and future careers and are sure they will do great things in the future.”

Applicants must be planning to further his or her education within six months of graduating from high school and submit a resume including their high school area of study, extracurricular activities or offices held (both in school and/or outside of school), community involvement and any additional awards or honors received. Additionally, applicants must submit two essays.

As these applicants take this honor with them to college, many of them will be going in different directions. Alexis Bundra from Whitehall-Coplay School District will be attending Kutztown University, Alana Henry of Catasaqua High School will be attending Cedar Crest College, Cheyenne Gioielli of Catasaqua High School will be attending Wilkes University, Ciara Rogers from Whitehall-Coplay School District will be attending Villanova University, Mason Forstoffer of Catasaqua High School will be attending Northampton Community College, and lastly, Sophia Gallo of Whitehall-Coplay School District will be attending University of Tampa.

The Whitehall Area Chamber, which serves Whitehall Township and Catasauqua, North Catasauqua, and Coplay Boroughs, hosts several events per year to engage local businesses and community partners, as well as to raise money for their scholarship fund.
