Kathy Henderson announced as new Executive Director
Lehighton, PA – The Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC), a proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the promotion of Kathy Henderson to Executive Director. Kathy will also continue in her role serving as Director of Economic Development. In her new role, Kathy will lead the organization and continue to cultivate economic development initiatives in Carbon County.
“Kathy’s vision and leadership have been pivotal in driving economic development in Carbon County with our organization the last 9 years,” said Jessica O’Donnell-Gower, Executive Vice President of Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “We are confident that Kathy’s promotion to Executive Director will further our efforts to create thriving communities and support all businesses within Carbon County.”
Having served as the Director of Economic Development since 2014, Kathy has been instrumental in supporting businesses, fostering growth and promoting sustainable development practices in the region. Her skillful management of state-funded PIDA loans and in-house, low-interest loan programs, along with her chairmanship of the Nature and Commerce Committee for CCEDC, have contributed to the county’s economic progress.
Kathy’s vision for Carbon County has centered on the revitalization of the county’s small towns. Through renovation efforts and re-imagining existing buildings to create affordable housing and bring businesses back to the downtowns, Carbon County has the potential to be the home of walkable destinations for residents and visitors alike.
Her dedication to Carbon County’s progress is evident by her active involvement in various boards and associations, including the NEPA Alliance, the Carbon Training Center, and the Wildlands Conservancy. Her achievements have been recognized with honors such as the Environmental Partnership Award presented by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC).
