Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out for Wellness: Canoeing at Beltzville State Park – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Beltzville State Park, 575-975 Preacher’s Camp Dr., Lehighton, PA 18235. Join us for an easy paddle on Beltzville Lake’s quieter side. We’ll paddle for a mile or so across the lake and a bit of the way up Wild Creek to see the falls. Wildlands Conservancy – You & Me: Enchanted Forest – 9:30 am – 11:00 am at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, PA 18049. “You & Me” is a program for children aged 3-5 and their grown-ups. Dress up as your favorite woodland creature and venture into the woods in search of animals and magic. Leave with your own hand made treasure. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Cheers to Conservation at Rising River Brewing – 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Rising River Brewing, 1955 Willow Lane, Macungie, PA 18062. Since 1973, everyday citizens, dedicated stewards, and local conveners have helped our nonprofit protect more than 60,000 acres – forever. We think that’s something to celebrate. Wildlands Conservancy – The Big Sit at Trexler Nature Preserve – 6:00 am – 6:00 pm at Trexler Environmental Center, 4935 Orchard Rd., Schnecksville, PA 18078. The Big Sit is an annual, international, noncompetitive birding event designed to appeal to birders and citizen scientists of all skill sets. The roof-top observation area of Trexler Nature Preserve’s Environmental Center building is a great birding location. Let’s count birds, and have fun! Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Wild in the Parks! Spooky History Hike – 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at South Mountain Reservoir, 2551 South 10th Street, Allentown, PA. Enjoy a short animal presentation with one of our wildlife ambassadors, then join us for a nighttime hike at South Mountain Reservoir, just in time for Halloween!. This program is free of charge thanks to funding from the City of Allentown, but preregistration is required and space is limited. Questions? PreK pathfinders is a series of programs for 3-5 year olds and their adults. Learn why our native animals are AMAZING. Enjoy nature-based play and a meet and greet wildlife presentation. Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out for Wellness: Woodland Hills & Lower Saucon Apple Festival – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Lower Saucon Apple Festival, 4135 Countryside Lane, Hellertown, PA 18055. Join us (2.4 mile loop) to explore the gently rolling grounds of the former Woodland Hills golf course, a terrific place to see signs of wildlife and to cross-country ski in winter. Just down the road you can tour the historic, one-room Lutz-Franklin Schoolhouse, maintained by the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society, which is having their Apple Festival the same day from 11 am to 3 pm. Wildlands Conservancy – Paddling 101: Walnutport Canal Festival – 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at Walnutport Canal, Lehigh Street,

Walnutport, PA 18088. You won’t want to miss this FREE, fun-filled family program that includes professional instruction in the canal during the annual Walnutport Canal Festival. Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: Mount Wismer – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Mount Wismer Trailhead, on Route 447 in Barrett Township, Cresco, PA 18326. This 2.5 mile out-and-back hike to the Mount Wismer viewpoint is considered moderate to challenging; our route begins at the top of the mountain. From the overlook, enjoy views of Skytop’s West Mountain, Gravel Pond, Spruce Mountain and beyond. Program is free thanks to funding from Lehigh Valley Health Network; please register on-line. Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: Pennypacker Mills – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Pennypacker Mills, 5 Haldeman Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473. Join us on this 2.5 mile hike, suitable for all ages, exploring this Montgomery County Historic Site. Wildlands Conservancy – Spooky Animals & Halloween Hike – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Pl., Emmaus, PA 18049. It’s Halloween, the perfect time to visit with critters that give many people the heebie-jeebies! We’ll meet Wildlands Conservancy’s creepiest critters (and learn that they’re not very scary at all).
