Phillipsburg, N.J.- All ABOARD for the Holidays in Phillipsburg! Phillipsburg NJ Railroad and Liberty Historic Railway, Inc. present “Holly Jolly Express Day” on Saturday, December 2, 2023, and join in on the fun at four walkable railroad event locations and explore the history of the Historic Roseberry House “Days of Yule” in Phillipsburg, New Jersey.

Highlights of the day include food trucks, music, history, Santa trains, Holiday Market, Santa and elf workshops, and the return of Operation Toy Train/Toy Drive, which involves bringing an unwrapped toy for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and touring one of Phillipsburg’s oldest homesteads with “Days of Yule.” Phillipsburg Chamber of Commerce will be cutting a ceremonial ribbon to celebrate the holiday new market and Holly Jolly Express Day at 12 p.m. with County Commissioner Lori Ciesla, Mayor Todd Tersigni, and Mayor Elect Randy Piazza, in addition to council members.

12 p.m.–8 p.m. Sponsored by Unity Bank and First Common Wealth. This

first-of-its-kind holiday market is in a historic train station owned by the Friends of the NJ Transportation Heritage Center. Step into this winter wonderland with this new holiday market, which will feature local craft vendors inside and savory and sweet food trucks outside. Local indoor vendors include Kayla’s Metaphysical Gifts, Bloomin’ Cottage, Lit Girl Candle, Curly Crafty Mama, Good Vibe Ink, Sports Collectibles, A to Z Customz, Phillipsburg NJ Railroad, and B Crafty Cafe. There will also be “Santa Workshop” classes with Bloomin’ Cottage: Santa Hat, Lantern, and Ornament Making and Lit Girl Candle: Holiday Candle Making. Phillipsburg High School Band at 5:30 p.m., and so much more. Check the calendar for all the special events happening every night and weekend.

🚂 Phillipsburg Union, PU Tower: 84 Brainard St., Phillipsburg, N.J. 08865.

12 p.m.–5 p.m. Bring your unwrapped toy for the amazing train arrival of Operation Toy Train. Bill Strassner will also join the open house. Bill, the former tower operator and PU, will once again be right at home in the operator’s room, seated at the desk, sharing his incredible stories and knowledge with anyone that walks through our doors. Join us on the bottom floor of the tower, known as the Relay and Engine Room, where we will be playing 5 hours worth of local railroad footage Dan Tomasso has captured over his many years of shooting the NJ/PA Lehigh Valley area. There will be music, food trucks, hot coco, and tours of the PU Phillipsburg Union – PU Tower. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive around 3:50 p.m. by train. Please bring at least one new, unwrapped toy for charity.

1 p.m.–3 p.m. will return with their annual Santa Train Ride on the miniature Southwestern and Centerville trains. All aboard for this free train ride, and after, have a stroll through there museum collection. Free train rides, hot cocoa and cookies

🚂 Delaware River Railroad Excursions: 99 Elizabeth St., Phillipsburg, N.J. 08865.

November 24th–December 17th. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m. Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the classic story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ for a magical hour and a half trip to meet Santa. Once you board, your car hosts will make their way through the coach and punch your golden ticket before serving you hot chocolate and delectable cookies by dancing chefs. Passengers listen to the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers greet passengers, and each guest is given the first gift of Christmas—a silver sleigh bell. During the trip, there is plenty of entertainment, from our magical juggling chefs to our singing hobos! Each guest will take home a keepsake sleigh bell in addition to the wonderful memories made on this magical trip.

3 p.m.-6 p.m. Step back in history at one of the oldest homesteads in Phillipsburg. The Roseberry House will hold their annual “Days of Yule.” Get into the holiday spirit with local author and expert Jeff Finnigan as he discusses “Washington in December.” There is no admission fee, musical entertainment, or light refreshments.

WINTER FARMERS MARKET Sunday’s 10 a.m. -1 p.m.

12 p.m.–6 p.m. will hold an elf workshop for children. Children make and take crafts for gifts, ornaments, and decor. Stop by before or after attending Operation Toy Train!
