Approval of the 2024 Budget for Northampton County

County Executive Lamont G. McClure is pleased to approve the 2024 budget for the County of Northampton today, December 11th. For the fifth year, the budget did not raise taxes. In 2022, County Council passed Executive McClure’s one mil property tax cut.

Expenditures were cut by 3.2% from the 2023 budget. (Expenses have decreased by 14.2% in the last two years.)

“I want to thank County Council and the Department of Fiscal Affairs for working on this budget,” says Executive Lamont McClure. “I’m disappointed to see funds taken away from the Lead Abatement Program that will ultimately leave vulnerable children at risk from lead exposure. However, this budget will allow the County of Northampton to operate efficiently. I’m proud that Farmland Preservation, Open Space programs, and Gracedale Nursing Home are fully funded and that Gracedale will not require any additional money from the County next year.”
