Throughout the year, the school’s gallery is host to both student and professional exhibitions.  This professional exhibit will feature privately-owned ink drawings by Alvin Booth alongside works by Mr. Imagination.

Alvin Booth, recipient of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Award for the Arts, is a Reading-based artist inspired by jazz and the art of improvisation. His rhythmic work captures the essence of heart, mind, and soul.  Booth’s work has been exhibited at a variety of museums around the country. Gregory Warmack, known as Mr. Imagination, was an outsider artist from Chicago, Illinois who worked in a variety of media including bottlecaps, repurposed material, and sandstone (Source: Wikipedia). Work by Mr. Imagination is featured in the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.

The exhibit will be on display through February 23, 2024, when the gallery will be open to the public during the school’s Black Excellence Show.  Private appointments to view the exhibit can also be arranged by calling 610-868-2971.
