Lehigh County Teens Win 4-H Scholarships
Two Lehigh County teens have been awarded scholarships from the Lehigh County 4-H Development Fund Board.
John Emanuel, son of Jason and Brenda Emanuel of Laurys Station, will graduate from Parkland High School. He plans to attend Penn State Berks for Mechanical Engineering. He has been a member of the Lehigh County 4-H program for 9 years and has been heavily involved in the Farm to Table Club and Potato Judging. Additionally, John has served as a Camp Counselor for 3 years at 4-H Camp at Seven Mountains.
Olivia Wisser, daughter of Jason and Amy Wisser of New Tripoli, will graduate from Northwestern Lehigh High School. She plans to attend Delaware Valley University next fall for Animal Science. Olivia has been a member of 4-H for 10 years, participating in Lehigh County Dairy, Livestock, Teen Council, Day Camp Counselor Program, and the Program Development Committee. In addition to her club involvement, she has served as a Camp Counselor at Lehigh County Sunset Camps.
4-H provides hands-on learning in a wide variety of subject areas for boys and girls, ages 8 – 18. It is part of the youth development programming of Penn State Extension. For more information about 4-H, contact the 4-H coordinator on weekdays at 610-391-9840.
