(Allentown, PA)—Lucas Mushrush from Allentown Central Catholic High School, and Yeisse Jimenez Rosario and James Yacoub from Louis E. Dieruff High School, were selected to receive Roger and Louise Mullin Scholarships from the Allentown Rotary Club. These scholarship recipients were honored at a club luncheon on May 16 at Cedar Crest College.
Each will receive $3,000 per year for a maximum amount of $12,000 over their four collegiate years beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Mushrush will attend Ursinus College, Rosario will attend East Stroudsburg University while Yacoub will attend Penn State University.
The scholarships are awarded to outstanding students from Allentown high schools who will attend a four-year college or university. Candidates were evaluated on their community service, leadership skills, academic achievement, financial need and interview skills.
The late Rotarian Roger W. Mullin Jr., a former chairman of the board of Mack Trucks, presented a scholarship endowment gift to the Allentown Rotary Scholarship Foundation in 1993. Since the early 1990s, the Rotary Club of Allentown has provided approximately $450,000 in scholarships to deserving students.
