Clean Team Workforce June Employee of the Month

Clean Team Workforce June Employee of the Month

(ALLENTOWN, PA) – The Clean Team Workforce congratulates its Employee of the Month for June, Thomas S.

Tom has been working for the Clean Team Workforce for thirteen years. He began working before the Employee of the Month award was created. The award historically has been given to a new hire on the Clean Team Workforce to show appreciation for their good work ethic. Unfortunately, since Tom was employed before the award’s inception, he was never nominated, despite his excellent work.

Tom and his twin brother Tim faced difficulties after their mother, whom they were living with, passed away. With only two sources of income, they struggled to pay the rent. Then a few years later, the store where the brothers were working downsized, leaving Tom and Tim without a job. In the spring of 2012, they were out of money and homeless. Tom and Tim came to the Allentown Rescue Mission together.

Both men enrolled in the Transformation Program and were model guests. They went out of their way to help other guests and the Mission staff. After graduation, Tom and Tim worked for the Clean Team Workforce but chose separate paths for the first time. Tim found employment at a local company and moved into his own place. Tom, however, decided to stay working for the Clean Team Workforce. Once he saved enough money, he secured an apartment with friends. Tom has been living independently for years and continues to work for the Clean Team Workforce. He also maintains a close relationship with his brother.

Tom has worked every type of job that the Clean Team Workforce offers from litter cleanup to crew leader. His favorite job is crew leader at a well-renowned Lehigh Valley country club. “I have really enjoyed working with all of the different men and making new friends over the years,” he stated.

Throughout his career, Tom has been a key employee and instrumental in the continued success of the Clean Team Workforce. We congratulate Tom for his long overdue nomination as Employee of the Month.

The Allentown Rescue Mission, a 501c3, 123 bed non-profit homeless shelter has been providing shelter

The Clean Team Workforce pays the men above PA state minimum wage– helping them save a nest egg to transition back into the community.
