LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., July 1, 2025 – Just weeks before her 63rd birthday, legendary Olympian “Joetta” continues to prove that age is no barrier to success. On Sunday, June 29, 2025, Joetta set a new American Masters record in the 100-meter dash (60–64 age group) at the USATF Masters Eastern Region Championships held at Peddie High School in New Jersey with a winning time of 13.44 seconds.
“I’m history made,” Joetta shares. “I feel proud to continue to set records and be an example for what’s possible at any age. There’s no expiration date on passion.”
The previous record, held by a 60-year-old and set in 2022, has now been broken by Joetta, a 62-year-old, four-time Olympian, and lifelong authority on fitness, health, and mental health wellness. This record comes just three months after Joetta clocked 28.62 seconds in the 200m to break an American Masters record at the USATF Masters Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida.
As a 2013 New Jersey Hall of Famer, motivational speaker, author, and entrepreneur, Joetta empowers others as the president of Joetta Sports & Beyond and her wellness programs including JoTyme Fitness™, Head 2 Toe® Fitness, and youth development program, D2RYD Track & Field Camp.
Joetta is also the daughter of the late Dr. Joe L. Clark, the famed Eastside High School principal portrayed by Morgan Freeman in the film, “Lean on Me,” and proud mother of Talitha Diggs, a world champion sprinter, NCAA record-holder, and American indoor 400m record-holder, continuing the family’s elite athletic legacy.
In addition to her athletic milestones, Joetta is a member of many prestigious boards and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
