Penn State Lehigh Valley Chancellor Tina Q. Richardson celebrates 10 years of leadership
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley Chancellor Dr. Tina Q. Richardson is celebrating 10 years of leadership at the campus, marking a decade of growth, innovation, and student success. Richardson joins 11 additional faculty and staff members who are being recognized this year for their professional milestones ranging from five to 45 years of service to the University.
During Richardson’s tenure, Penn State Lehigh Valley has experienced steady enrollment trends, significant facility enhancements, and the addition of new academic programs designed to meet regional workforce needs. Among her many accomplishments is the completion of the campus’s $14.4 million building expansion in 2021. The 20,500-square-foot project added modern laboratory space, a dining hall, student lounge, and faculty offices—transforming the campus environment and supporting new opportunities for learning and collaboration.
Richardson has also championed the creation of in-demand degree pathways, including the campus’s new engineering major, which will be supported by two state-of-the-art laboratories.
Milestones reflect deep dedication to the University’s mission
“Celebrating professional milestones is an opportunity to highlight the deep commitment our faculty and staff have for the community, our students, and our special land-grant mission,” said Dr. Aníbal Torres, chief academic officer at Penn State Lehigh Valley. “Their hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication are the heart of our success as a Commonwealth Campus.”
Faculty and staff come together to celebrate colleagues
Faculty and staff recognition is a longstanding Penn State tradition. “Penn State recognizes staff milestones at All-Campus Day, a twice-yearly meeting of the University’s staff at the Lehigh Valley campus,” said Ryan Abramson, director of strategic marketing and communications. “Faculty and staff are presented with unique gifts to honor their service and commitment to the University.”
This year’s milestone honorees include:
- Five years of service: Jonathan Desiderio, Cindy Evans, and Colleen Krcelich
- Ten years of service: Melissa Baker, Dr. Tracey Carbonetto, Dr. Beth Michalec, Hiba Moussa, and Dr. Tina Q. Richardson
- Fifteen years of service: Richard Guinan
- Twenty years of service: Marta DaSilva
- Thirty years of service: Dr. Nichola Gutgold
- Forty-five years of service: Francis Groeller
Looking ahead
As Penn State Lehigh Valley prepares for another year of progress, Richardson said the campus remains focused on creating opportunities that connect students with real-world learning and global engagement.
“Every day we elevate,” Richardson said. “With our extraordinary staff, many academic achievements, vibrant campus voices, and committed alumni, the success of Penn State Lehigh Valley is assured well into the future.”
