August David Adler passed away the day after he was born in 2015. In honor of his 10th birthday, his family donated an Adalyn Rose Foundation Remembrance Cart to the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital, part of Jefferson Health. A dedication ceremony was held in the lobby of the Breidegam Family Children’s Emergency Room.
The cart will be used to provide support to families facing the heartbreaking loss of a child. Grief books for children and adults, candles and blankets are among the items the cart will include.
“A remembrance cart is brought to families who have suffered the loss of a child through still birth, infant death or miscarriage. This cart supports next steps and provides the family with all the information they need to be supported. All the things that weren’t given to us when August died,” Michelle Adler
The Adalyn Rose Foundation provides comprehensive and continuous support to families grieving the loss of a child at any time during pregnancy, infancy, or early childhood. To find help, learn how to get involved, or to donate to Adalyn Rose Foundation visit https://adalynrose.org/
