Coming Events

January 7-8, The PHS Performing Arts Club Hosts a Children’s Theatre Workshop at 9 AM and 12:30 PM. Students will experience acting, singing, dancing and stagecraft aspects of theatre through hands-on activities.

January 11, Parkland High School The Art of Collaboration, PHS Room C200, 7 PM. Students in Mr. Thomas’s Parkland News Network Club, working collaboratively with students in Dr. Watson’s Music Production class, have created a variety of short films

with original musical scores to be premiered for the Parkland community. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free but on a first come, first served basis until C200 is full.
January 16, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – SCHOOLS CLOSED.

January 19, Community Advisory Council Meets to Discuss The School District Budget Process with John Vignone, Director of Business Administration, as the presenter, Administration Center, 7 PM. The public is invited to attend.

January 20, OMS/SMS Chorale at Phantoms Game at PPL Center.

The combined musical forces of both Parkland Middle School Chorales will open the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Game against the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins singing our National Anthem! http://www.phantomshockey.com/events/phantoms-vs-wilkes-barrescranton-penguins-9/ Discounted tickets for the event are $17 each for general seating within the designated Parkland section. January 24, School Board Meeting – School Board Recognition Night, Administration Center, 7 PM. This year’s theme will focus on STEM Education at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

January 26, Middle School Parent University, Springhouse Middle School Auditorium, 7-8 PM. The topic of the program is Sports Nutrition Basics for Teen Athletes and will be presented by Jennifer M. Doane, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, ATC Registered dietitian, board certified specialist in sports dietetics, and certified athletic trainer. Students are welcome to attend this program with their parents. Class of 2017 is selling yard signs to congratulate seniors. Signs will be printed

on both sides and come with the yard posts (see photo above of the sign graphic). They will be available in May 2017. You will be emailed when signs are ready to be picked up at the HS. Each sign is $22. Signs are vinyl, 24” x 18”, and come with yard posts. Checks should be

made payable to PHS Class of 2017. Forms can be submitted online at the following
