Building 21 Allentown Holds Diversity Day Expo

Event to be held Friday, April 28

Allentown, PA (April 27, 2017) Building 21 Allentown will celebrate student diversity through a school and community event Friday, April 28 on the front parking deck of the school facility from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Expo is an infusion of school culture, curriculum and community. It will include community display booths, a cultural fashion show, cross curricular exhibitions, professional dancers, local vendors, an international food court, and many other activities that celebrate our differences as members of the Lehigh Valley community. The goal is to promote diversity awareness of students in the Allentown School District. More than 500 participants including students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community business leaders are anticipated.

The following organizations will be included in the performances and displays at this event: The Arc of Lehigh Valley, Carmen Belly Dance, Hispanic American League of Artists, Kona Ice of Allentown, Pratyush Sinha Foundation, Lehigh Valley Salsa Social, and the Puerto Rican Culture Preservation Society.  In addition, Building 21 thanks the following organizations for their support: Aladdin Restaurant, Ctown, Giant Food Stores, Kids Castle, O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Dance, Party City, Roberto Clemente Charter School, Straight Edge Media, Wegman’s, Weis Market, and the Crayola Factory.
