Lehigh County Honors Older Adults

Holds Unsung Heroes Tribute

In honor of Older Americans Month, Lehigh County Office of Aging and Adult Services will recognize 15 older adults and one group who display exceptional generosity with their time and talents to enhance the lives of others.

The 15th annual “Tribute to Unsung Heroes” will take place on Wednesday, May 20 at 1 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road in Allentown.

Since 1963, May has been designated as a special month to honor older Americans.

Honorees include happy-go-lucky, 87-year-old Pat Yost who is enthusiastic about life, church, and the community, and Bimo Sunupoernomo who volunteers three days each week assisting job seekers with resume preparation and basic computer skills.

The Office of Aging and Adult Services advocates for Lehigh County residents and provides a wide range of services and information to help older adults remain healthy, active, independent and productive members of their community.
