AMERICAN RED CROSS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown needs volunteers from 9am-2pm on Saturday, April 28 to “Sound the Alarm, Save a Life” by joining firefighters and community members to go out in teams to educate residents about home fire safety and install free smoke alarms in homes. COMMUNITY BIKE WORKS, Allentown is looking for volunteers to teach the class in their Earn-a-Bike program. This program teaches students (ages 9-17) basic bike mechanics and safety over a 12 week course. Mentors aid students as they fix their bike and learn communication and teamwork skills. Upon completion of the course, students earn their refurbished bike and a new helmet. No mechanic experience is necessary. Call Hannah Miller,

 

FAMILY CONNECTION OF EASTON, INC. needs volunteers to serve as After School Tutors at Paxinosa and Cheston Elementary Schools in the Easton Area School District. Tutors will provide homework help to students in grades 1-5. All tutors will receive training, and all tutors must have various clearances. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville is looking for volunteers who enjoy planning events, are outgoing and positive-spirited, and love contributing towards a great cause. If you do, LV Zoo has a spot for you! Join their Zoo Gala Planning Committee. Must attend meetings once a month from May to October. Duties include making phone calls, securing donation items for basket raffles, and researching event details. Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
