AMERICAN RED CROSS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown needs volunteers from 9am-2pm on Saturday, April 28 to “Sound the Alarm, Save a Life” by joining firefighters and community members to go out in teams to educate residents about home fire safety and install free smoke alarms in homes. ALLENTOWN YOUTH SOCCER CLUB, Allentown has lots of volunteer opportunities. They need Coach/Assistant Coach; Team Manager; Registration Assistants; and Administrative (sort copies & deliver flyers). Open Board positions: Registrar – collect/manage player data, communicate with coaches; Travel League Rep & Recreational League Rep – attend quarterly league meetings and report back to board and coaches. AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION/AMERICAN STROKE ASSOCIATION, Allentown is looking for volunteers who are able to help at the “Go Red for Women” event on May 11. Help is needed with registration, auction, check out, and to interact with guests and staff. CEDARBROOK NURSING HOME, Allentown needs volunteers (age 13+) to transport wheelchair bound residents to and from in-house appointments and activities (and help at games/activities).  Days, weekends, and Tuesday evenings are available. Most shifts are 2 hours. All volunteers are required to complete an application, pass Criminal History Clearance, and meet for an interview. MORAVIAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY, Bethlehem is looking for volunteers (14+ years) from 9am-1pm on Saturday, May 5 (rain date 5/12) to help beautify the grounds of historic Whitefield House and Gray Cottage in Nazareth. Help fill holes, pickup branches, and do general gardening to prepare for upcoming Annual Arts & Crafts Festival on June 2. Set-up canopies and temporary fencing, clean grill, and food stand for our annual American Indian Relic Show featuring artifact collections from over 50 professional collectors. THE SALVATION ARMY CHILDREN’S SERVICES, Allentown is raising awareness for National Foster Care Month with the 7th Annual Rock N’ Run 4 Kids 10k, 5k, and Kids Fun Run to be held on May 12 at Coca-Cola Park.
