October 27 & 28, Middle School Plays

SMS will perform Winnie the Pooh, Jr. and OMS will perform Much Ado About Will. Dates and times appear in the graphic below.

November 2, Kratzer School-wide Positive Behavior PAWSitive Celebration, 2:15-3 PM. Students sign up for a creative activity. Some choices are Foldable Books, Cookie Making, Galaxy Oobleck, Calming Bottles, Bulb Planting, Kickball, Stargo, and Marshmallow Catapult. All teachers funded the activity of their choice and all students will get to participate in this celebration that promotes community within the school and allows students to sign up for an activity with a teacher they might not know and with students from other grades.

November 5, Parent University with Marc Mero on Facing Adversity and Overcoming Challenges, SMS Auditorium, 7 PM. 8th and 9th graders will receive Marc Mero’s special message about facing adversity in the morning and then parents are invited in at night to be inspired by Marc’s message as he inspires people to examine their life choices.

November 6, Election Day, Schools Closed.

November 7, DIWALI.

November 8, 1st Marking Period Ends for Elem and PHS.

November 8, PPL’s Take Action Program at Orefield Middle School, 10:15 AM. This program will be presented to all 8th grade students to Think!, Talk! and Take Action! about their energy use by installing energy-efficient technologies. Students get to take home kits that include LED light bulbs, a low flow shower head and a low flow spicket for a faucet and more!

November 9-11, PHS Children’s Show, Mary Poppins, Jr. Fri at 7 PM, Sat at 3 & 7 PM and Sun at 3 PM.

Dance Team Clinic Information and Registration Form – the PHS Dance Team is holding a hip hop clinic on January 12 for students in grades K-8. Register early!

  • Congrats to PHS teacher Eric Gopen for winning the Voya Financial Unsung Heroes grant of $2,000 that pays for 20 textbooks, student uniform shirts, and 20 blood pressure kits (cuffs and stethoscopes) for the PHS Emergency Medical Technician class. He’s one of 100 educators from more than 1,500 applications received nationwide to be recognized for innovative teaching methods, creative educational projects and the ability to positively influence children he teaches.
