PBS39 to Broadcast Live Easton Mayoral Debate



 
This live debate, featuring the candidates running for mayor of Easton, will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 6.
 
Bethlehem, PA. – May 1, 2019 – PBS39 will broadcast a live mayoral debate from 7-8 p.m. at the Paxinosa Elementary School Auditorium in Easton on Monday, May 6, 2019. This is the first debate in the station’s Who Will Lead? series, which will also include mayoral debates in Allentown and Reading. The Who Will Lead? series begins with these debates and will continue through the November 2020 election cycle.

PBS39 Executive Producer and Host Monica Evans will moderate this debate alongside Dr. Christopher Borick, Professor of Political Science and Director of the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion. This live debate will feature candidates Sal Panto (Incumbent) (D) and Taiba Sultana (D).

PBS39 Executive Producer and Host Monica Evans has more than two decades of broadcast experience. Before joining the team at PBS39, Evans spent 11 years as a senior reporter for the FOX affiliate in Kansas City, Missouri. Previously, she worked as a court and crime reporter for the ABC affiliate in Springfield, Massachusetts, an arts and entertainment reporter for the FOX affiliate in Hartford, Connecticut and a talk show host/producer for the NBC affiliate in Hartford. Evans has a bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism from Central Connecticut State University.

About Dr. Christopher Borick
Dr. Christopher Borick, Professor of Political Science and Director of the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion, is a nationally recognized public opinion researcher who has conducted more than 300 large-scale public opinion surveys. The results of these surveys have appeared in numerous publications including Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post. Borick has also provided analysis for the BBC, National Public Radio, PBS, MSNBC, CBS News and NBC Nightly News. Borick earned his undergraduate degree at Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree from East Stroudsburg University. He completed his doctoral work at The State University of New York at Binghamton in the area of public policy analysis.
