ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION needs volunteers to do or refer drywall contractor(s) who would donate time and materials to demo and repair 3 interior walls at their facility on Sunday, June 30 from 9am-5pm. Wall 1 is an old plaster lathe wall that needs to be demo’d and sheetrock put up. Walls 2 & 3 are in classroom/clinic area where sheetrock is in poor repair due to water damage. DELAWARE & LEHIGH NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR, Easton needs Visitor Service Volunteers and National Canal Museum Docents/Guides for the 2019 season (June – December). Service volunteers act as greeters or assist in the Gift Shop. Guides help bring history to life for visitors. Training and reading materials are provided. GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth is looking for high school students (14+ years) to participate in a summertime Junior Volunteer Program. Students generally assist in one of these areas: resident transport, activity assistants, and one-on-one visits. Hours Monday – Friday 9am-3pm with a commitment of at least one day a week required. PLEASURE OF YOUR COMPANY THERAPY DOGS, INC., Kutztown seeks volunteers with therapy dogs to visit residents of various nursing homes throughout the Lehigh Valley area. They are currently in need of teams to visit residents at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown from 6:30-7:30pm on Thursdays and residents of Country Meadows, Allentown on Wednesdays from 6-6:45pm. VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem is recruiting high school students entering 10th,, 11th, or 12th grade for their goLEAD Leadership Program which will take place from 9am-3pm on Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19.
