What lies ahead at Parkland:
9/20- 11/3 –Dorney Park Discount Coupons – $23 for admission at this link only

9/21 – Wellness Symposium – Sign up for sessions at the link on the bottom of the flyer
9/24 – New Teacher Reception at the School Board Meeting – new professional staff will be introduced at the School Board Meeting

9/25 – Safe Bus Driver Picnic – recognizing outstanding bus drivers from the past school year at OMS under the party tent

Continental Breakfast from 9:30 – 10:30, Dignitaries and awards from 10:30 to 11:15, Lunch served from 11:15– 1:30

9/26 – Financial Aid Night at Parkland High School, Margaret Moyer, Director of Financial Aid at DeSales University will be the presenter and we’ll be piloting technology that translates the presenter’s voice into text in more than 60 languages for our parents!

9/26 – Harlem Wizards tickets go on sale for our November 21st Game at PHS!

9/27 – Foundation Tailgate, 7pm at Orefield stadium – catered by Dickie’s BBQ and dessert by Trixie’s Treats!

9/29 – Girls Basketball Golf Tournament at Shepherd Hills Club

9/29-10/1 – ROSH HASHANAH

9/30 – Early Dismissal, HS/MS 1 PM, Elem 1:45 PM


Special congratulations to Parkland for receiving the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) Outstanding Visual Arts Community 2019 Award for their outstanding commitment to visual arts education this past week. PAEA empowers its members to transform their practices, students, colleagues, and communities to build a strong art education culture and citizenry.

Districts receiving this endorsement demonstrate the importance of their visual arts programs with:

  • Rigorous and Inclusive Programs: Arts programs demonstrate rigor using standards-based curriculum taught at every level by highly qualified and certified arts educators.
  • Highly Accessible Programs: Art programs are offered to all studentsat every level of education with a sustainable budget for the visual arts.
  • Highly Visible Programs: Schools and districts identify their programmatic accomplishments, curriculum for all levels, art staff, mission statements, and arts events using their school websites and social media.
