Event Information: The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber and the Veteran and Military Council, proud partners of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, presents Bucks & Bourbon!

Join the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce and the Veteran and Military Council for the first ever Bucks & Bourbon mixer at Eight Oaks Distillery in New Tripoli, PA. This networking event aims to provide the opportunity for Veterans to make connections with one another, as well as businesses throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Hosted at Eight Oaks Distillery, a Veteran-owned business, participants will be offered a complimentary 2-Spirit Flight and complimentary hors d’oeuvres from Mission BBQ. Chad Butters, owner of Eight Oaks Distillery, said, “As a veteran-owned farm distillery, we are just so excited to host the Bucks & Bourbon veterans event on February 19th.  Events like these align perfectly with the Eight Oaks mission to craft the best spirits, leave the land better than we found it, and make our community a better place!”

A portion of all proceeds will benefit Camp Freedom, located in Carbondale, PA. Camp Freedom is a non-profit organization that seeks to help Veterans and their families through outdoor adventures; they specialize in creating adventures for Veterans, First Responders, their families, and Gold Star families at no cost to them in order to promote healing in a safe and protected manner.

“Anytime we are able to partner with different councils from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, there is room for growth and partnership to be forged,” said Kylie Adams, Manager of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “However, partnering with the Veteran & Military Council hits home to so many within Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber. Veterans make up such a large portion of our population and supporting veteran-owned businesses and organizations like Camp Freedom is just a small way that we can show our gratitude for the sacrifices made for our country.”

Andy Gildner, owner of Keystone Technology, LLC, and Chair of the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, added, “Bucks & Bourbon is a very special event. Greater Northern Lehigh is looking forward to partnering with the Veteran’s council – by supporting this event, our members can say “Thank You” to our men and women who have served.”

Chris Hankee, of the Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund and sponsor of the event agreed that “Sponsoring this event is a perfect fit to our commitment to support the military community.” The Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund, located in Germansville, provides gas and gift cards to families in need to aid with medical travel and rehabilitation; they will be presenting Camp Freedom with additional support at the event.

In addition to great food and beverages, live entertainment will also be provided. Musician Anthony Cubbage will accompany the networking with live music.

Jessica O’Donnell, EVP of Affiliated Chambers said, “We are so excited for this event, as it showcases an awesome Veteran-owned distillery and venue in our Greater Northern Lehigh footprint while connecting with our partners in the Veterans & Military Council! Our Veterans & Military Council holds a very special place in the hearts of our Chamber members and our Chamber staff.”

The Veterans & Military Council is a new council to the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce; it was formed in 2019 in order to honor and empower the men and women who have served or are serving our country in the United States military and to build a strong network of veterans in business, veteran business owners and active guard/reservists to promote the contributions and competitive advantage that military members bring to any business.

Alison Pickel, Senior VP of Member Relations & Operations at the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber, oversees the newly formed Council. “The Veterans & Military Council is excited and proud to elevate the mission of Camp Freedom PA with this special Bucks and Bourbon fundraiser in partnership with the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber at veteran-owned Eight Oaks Distillery. The mission of the council is to support veterans and military members in business by providing networking opportunities for veterans to develop and grow professionally. It’s imperative we support and educate our communities on the mission of Camp Freedom which helps hundreds of veterans and first responders by providing dozens of outdoor adventures and activities in the healing environment of nature.”
