Historic Downtown Bethlehem, PA 6/10/20: Christmas City Spirits has partnered with St. Luke’s University Health Network, to provide Downtown Bethlehem Merchants with a hand sanitizer donation, made from the remains of their last batch that was made in their distillery.

On Friday, June 12, 2020 at 11:30 a.m., outside of the Tavern at the Sun Inn, members from the Downtown Bethlehem Association will be meeting with Christmas City Spirits, to accept the donation and will then hand out bottles to their members in the Historic District. Teaming up with St. Luke’s University Health Network, Christmas City Spirits was able to receive the supplies needed to bottle up their remaining well-known sanitizer, “The Corona Bullet”.

Within 24 hours at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Head Distiller Michael Dombrosky, went from making rum and whiskey, to making sanitizer. They were immediately able to offer a donation of over 27 gallons to St. Luke’s University Health Network, with another several hundred gallons being donated to a multitude of front line organizations subsequently. Other partners Seth Cornish, Noel Cornish, Brett Biggs and Michael Santanasto.

With the remainder of their last batch, owners of Christmas City Spirits had decided they wanted to take care of their business community, offering bottles to each member of the Downtown Bethlehem Association, a Council of The Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. This donation finalizes their production of hand sanitizer as supply returns to the market.

Co-owner Brett Biggs notes,”We’re incredibly happy and proud to be partnering with St. Luke’s University Health Network to help protect our local businesses and their customers that are opening up in this yellow phase. Back in early March when we were informed of St. Luke’s need for hand sanitizer we delivered our first 27 gallons that we produced to them. It’s an amazing gesture for them to help us make it possible to distribute what will hopefully be the last batch we ever produce at no cost to our friends and neighbors in downtown Bethlehem.”

Downtown Bethlehem Association Manager Tammy Wendling adds, “We continuously receive support from our Downtown Merchants. It is because of them, that our Association is such a strong force in our community. We look after each other. This donation was a generous surprise and moving into the yellow phase, we need these supplies more than ever, to keep our business owners, their employees and guests safe. We are so excited for our friends at Christmas City Spirits and their ongoing partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network.”
