ALLENTOWN, PA — Ce-Ce Gerlach, Allentown City Councilperson, longtime Center City resident and working-class champion, will hold a press conference this Saturday, January 3rd at 12:30 p.m. at 8th and Gordon to outline her plans for 2026 and the future of her grassroots movement, following the Democratic Party’s selection of a nominee for the Special Election.
The press conference comes at a pivotal moment for voters in the district, many of whom have expressed frustration with insider-driven political processes and the growing disconnect between party leadership and working-class communities.
“For too long, decisions that affect working people have been made behind closed doors,” said Gerlach.
Gerlach emphasized that her campaign has always been about expanding participation, transparency, and accountability — not about legacy names, political favors, or inherited power.
“This movement has never been about party insiders,” Gerlach added. “It’s about renters, homeowners, workers, immigrants, and families struggling to get by — and I’m running to change the status quo so working people have a real choice and a real voice in their government.”
Saturday’s event will outline Gerlach’s vision for the next phase of organizing, policy advocacy, and electoral engagement heading into 2026. Supporters, community members, and members of the press are encouraged to attend.
“This is about fighting for working people,” Gerlach said. “And that fight doesn’t stop because a party makes a decision. In many ways, it’s just beginning.”
