ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION The next training session for the volunteer reading program is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, from 1:30-2:30PM at Jackson Elementary Childhood Center located at 517 N 15th Street, Allentown. Parking is on the street. Background clearances are required to volunteer in the schools and directions to obtain them will be distributed. ALLENTOWN SYMPHONY ASSOCIATION needs Lyric Society Volunteers to work all three levels of Miller Symphony Hall: Orchestra, Mezzanine, Balcony. We hold ASO, Allentown Band, outside artists and Jazz Upstairs. All prospective volunteers must attend a 1-hr. orientation session at the Hall. Parking is reimbursed for orientation and all events. Ticket scanning, ushering, program folding, stuffing and distribution. Must be 18 years of age and be able to work independently. FEED THE CHILDREN, Bethlehem is accepting volunteer applications for their Teacher Store in which teachers from Title I school districts may shop for free school supplies four days a month. Dedicated, outgoing volunteers are needed to help with check-in/out, assist shoppers, and restock store. Store is open every Wednesday of the month, and volunteer shifts are 1:30-5pm. GREATER VALLEY YMCA, Easton Branch needs 10 coaches to guide our young players and create a safe, nurturing atmosphere for our young athletes for our upcoming soccer season. Volunteers will need to be vetted and complete background checks prior to the start of the season. The season will run March 30th – May 23rd. Applications will need to be completed by March 15th.

LCCC CENTER FOR CAREER PATHWAYS, Allentown needs Tutors for adult students in our GED and ESL programs in Allentown, for Math, Language Arts, Science Social Studies and Writing. Tutors work with students a minimum of 3 hours a week. A Bachelor’s degree and clearances are required for all tutors.

LEHIGH VALLEY HEALTH NETWORK 17th & Chew St, Allentown is looking for volunteers with computer skills for the Veteran’s Health Office. We also need bilingual volunteers to help in Breast Health Services Dept. to perform general tasks and be available to assist with Spanish speaking patients. THE SALVATION ARMY FOSTER CARE & ADOPTION SERVICES, Allentown is looking for 1-2 long-term volunteers (age 18+) to help on a weekly basis with various clerical duties. Training and support will be provided. Main duties include filing confidential foster care documents, data entry, and answering phones. Strong computer and communication skills a plus! Minimum of one day per week is preferred; weekday (M-F) schedule is flexible; start asap. Background clearances are required.
