HUD DEPUTY SECRETARY TO MAKE FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENTS IN ALLENTOWN, TOUR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

October 20, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Deputy Secretary Brian Montgomery will visit Allentown to make major funding announcements involving lead remediation and the Da Vinci Science Center. Joining him for the announcements will be Mayor Ray O’Connell, Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Operations Manager Tom Williams, DCED Community Housing Manager Heidi Westerman and Da Vinci Science Center Executive Director and CEO Lin Erickson.

Following the announcements, Deputy Secretary Montgomery will briefly tour HUD-funded housing rehabilitation projects followed by a drive-by tour of the city’s Opportunity Zones.

WHEN: The funding announcements will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a tour of HUD-funded housing rehabilitation projects. First stop is 326 N. Ninth Street, and the second is 621 N. Front Street.

NOTE: Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
