LEHIGH VALLEY, PA – November 9, 2020 – A pre-Thanksgiving food donation event launched last year by the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail has even greater importance this year during the pandemic with so many Lehigh Valley residents struggling to make ends meet.

The Second Annual Giving Before Thanks event on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 invites winery guests to donate a non-perishable food item at each member winery they visit. The food will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania the following week, in time to be handed out to families in need for Thanksgiving. LVWT will also donate to the food bank $1 for each pound of food that was contributed during the weekend event, up to $1,000 total.

Member wineries include: Amore Winery, Nazareth; Black River Farms, Bethlehem; Blue Mountain Vineyards, New Tripoli; Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery, Breinigsville; Franklin Hill Vineyards, Bangor; Galen Glen, Andreas; Tolino Vineyards, Bangor; and Vynecrest, Breinigsville.

Event hours at all of the wineries are Saturday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon – 5 p.m.  (Amore Vineyards is closed to visitors at this time but is offering curbside pickup of wine orders placed in advance by phone.)

This event is also an opportunity to pick up wines for upcoming holiday meals. The knowledgeable staff members at each winery can help customers select the right wines to pair with each meal’s courses. Customers who already know what wines they wish to buy can place an order for curbside pickup online or by phone, and then swing by the winery to get it when it’s ready. Wines from many LVWT wineries can also be purchased at area grocery stores such as Giant, Redner’s Wegmans, Weis, and others, and at PLCB Wine & Spirits Shoppes.

The Lehigh Valley Wine Trail is a nonprofit organization of wineries whose mission is to promote agri-tourism and to create a premiere wine destination and grape growing region while promoting Pennsylvania wines from the region. For more information, visit www.LehighValleyWineTrail.com.
